[Composition Datasheet] refers to the documentation of the components present after disassembling a part to its smallest unit. The composition datasheet is divided into three sections in the document structure, and you are required to fill it out based on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) provided by the material supplier:
Basic Data | Material Data | Smelter Data* |
---|---|---|
he basic information of this file, the content of confidential composition, and the uploaded composition datasheet file. | The components disassembled from the parts contain substances, along with the weight percentage (content) of each substance. | Information on the smelters for conflict metals (cobalt, gold, tantalum, tungsten, tin). |
Create Composition Datasheet
The steps to create a Composition Datasheet in the document library are as follows:
Click on the [Composition Datasheet] option in the left-side menu.

Composition Datasheet-Instructions for Filling Out Substance Information
The following will provide further explanation regarding common issues encountered during the filling out of Substance Information data:
- For substances in the SDS form where CAS No. is labeled as Trade secret: You can select the same substance name on the platform, but when the CAS No. is Trade Secret, be mindful not to fill in the confidential composition with a percentage exceeding 10% of the total composition weight.
- For substances in the SDS form where CAS No. is labeled as Not Assigned: This may occur when specific substances are not yet listed in the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) registry, or when a substance with the same name has various chemical compositions. In such cases, you can select the same substance name on the platform, but leave the CAS No. field blank. If you cannot find the same substance name, you can report this to customer service or apply to add the substance.
- Percentage/Concentration Indicated in Ranges: For some components, due to volatility or other reasons, the substance may be expressed in ranges. When filling in the weight percentage, please select "Fill in interval" from the dropdown menu. You can enter interval values based on the labeling in the ingredient list, and the system will automatically calculate the average value within the range as the basis for the weight percentage.
- Weight Percentage/Concentration Indicated as Less Than (<): This indicates the maximum concentration proportion of the component. You can input a single value for this option.
- Weight Percentage/Concentration Indicated as Greater Than (>): This indicates the minimum concentration proportion of the component. Typically, you can enter the remaining component percentage after subtracting other components or select the option to input the remaining percentage.
Instructions for Filling Out Smelter Data
The following provides further explanation regarding common issues encountered when filling out smelter data:
- While entering material data, the system will automatically identify whether the filled material is a conflict mineral. After completing the creation of each material data entry, the Conflict Metal column will indicate "Yes" or "No" to specify whether it is a conflict metal.
- If there are conflict metals and the smelter data is not provided, upon clicking on the Metal Smelter page, a prompt dialog will appear indicating that smelter information has not been declared. If you are aware of the smelter information, click to proceed with the filling. If you are unsure about the smelter information, click to exit the page. You can return to complete the form after gathering the necessary information."
- When selecting a composition table with conflict metals but without filling in the smelter information in the MCD form, the raw material and submission page will display a prompt , and you can click buttton on the left directly fill in the smelter information.。
- If you select a composition table containing conflict metals but do not provide smelter information while filling out the MCD form, the submission will not be accepted. During submission, a prompt will be displayed, prompting you to add smelter information before resubmitting for approval.
